Tamworth Sons of Rest was formed in 1949. Aimed at retired gentleman, mainly from retired miners and elderly persons to give such people somewhere to go to and get them out of the house. The Sons of Rest was formed in Birmingham in 1927 then became National as other branches were formed, ex serviceman were also welcomed.
