Aims & Activities
Giving you the opportunities you need to lead the life you want! We are a face-to-face social support network set up and based in the local town of Stafford. Our aim is to help people improve their mental health and social health by offering a wide range of simple and easily accessible activities in their local community. We offer a wide range of social and emotional support catered around the needs and desires of those members accessing our service. Activities include coffee mornings, art groups, mental health and wellbeing groups, and bereavement and loss. The word activity is used here in the loosest way, as it is not important whether a member gets involved in the activity or not, it is turning up and being around others and socialising that counts, We realise how difficult this can be and so we ensure there is no pressure, members can take their time to build their confidence at their own pace. Our service is all about improving health and wellbeing and maintaining recovery and having regular access to positive social support can help people to achieve that, We also have plans to extend our programme further in the near future with the help of our loyal and committed volunteer network, who are fully training in peer support level 1 and 2 in our bespoke training course Supporting People in Recovery. If you would like to become a member, volunteer, work with us, or simply would like to find out more, please get in touch, we will be more than happy to have a chat. Stafford Social Hub is funded by the Reaching Communities National Lottery Fund.
